British Heart Foundation - Upcycling Photoshoot

The British Heart Foundation commissioned me to shoot some images to help promote their charity drive to get people to buy more second hand clothing and learn simple new skills to upcycle it. It’s amazing what a bit of trim and a few buttons can do to an item of clothing to change the whole look.

SO we started the day at one of the BHF’s London stores where we met a few students who were happy to pose for pictures as they looked throught eh amazing selection of donated secondhand clothing (I even grabbed a new tshirt and jumper whilst I was there). Working in a shop isn’t easy as spaces are quite tight so the light stands had go where ever I could find a suitable space - the other issue that made the shoot tricky was that the shop was open……. but we worked fast, the staff and models were great and hopefully we got out before we caused too much disruption.

Then it was off to one of the BHF staff members house as she was a keen upcycler and had her own sewing room which was a perfect location. I don’t know if she had tidied the room especially for me but the room was perfect with a really clean feel to it which saved loads of time (I often find that I have to completely rearrange and declutter / tidy a room when I arrive at someones house for a shoot). SHe had a striking style and loved bold colours and patterns which all helped with the shoot.

Another fun photoshoot commissioned for a national charity who I have worked with for over 15 years and I am always astounded by how much they have achieved in their fight against heart disease and their campaigns to raise awareness.
